Mount Prospect Traffic Violation Lawyers

Oftentimes, those who are ticketed for alleged traffic offenses do not bother to go to court to fight the charges. Instead, they just pay the ticket and move on with their lives.

Many don’t realize that paying a traffic ticket is the equivalent of pleading guilty, and a person can face possible consequences with their car insurance rates and may also risk possible suspension of their driving privileges.

Even a petty traffic ticket can have negative impacts on your driver’s license. Contact our experienced Mount Prospect Traffic Violation attorneys today to best see how we can fight your traffic ticket.

Illinois Traffic Violation Point System

The Illinois Secretary of State uses a point system for traffic offenses. A person under 21 years of age will have their driver’s license suspended for two moving violation convictions within 24 months while people 21 years of age or older will have their license suspended for three moving violation convictions within 12 months. The Secretary of State adds up the points assigned to a person’s driving record based on traffic offenses (you can find a full list of all traffic offenses on the Secretary of State website) to determine the length of a driver’s license suspension. The point values for common moving violations include the following:
